Cook – Full-Time Position Care Home: Orchard Blythe Hours: 14 hours per week Salary: £13.45 per hour
About The Role
We are recruiting for a Cook to join our Hospitality Team at Runwood Homes. As a Cook with us, you’ll deliver hotel and restaurant standard meals in a supportive environment, without long shifts or extreme pressures. We are looking for warm, motivated, and passionate professionals who are committed to high-quality, person-centred hospitality for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain high standards across all stages of food preparation, ensuring resident well-being and satisfaction.
- Ensure meal preparation and serving align with menu requirements, company standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Comply with Food Safety & Hygiene (England) Regulations 2013 / Food Hygiene Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2006.
- Deliver consistent meal quality in terms of presentation, taste, and nutrition.
- Manage portion control to minimise waste and reduce food costs.
- Accommodate individual dietary needs (e.g., high/low calorie, low sugar) through adapted recipes or specialised menus.
- Maintain safe, healthy, and efficient working environments, including sanitation and hazard monitoring.
- Ensure proper storage, rotation, and ordering of food and supplies.
- Monitor stock levels, implement effective inventory rotation, and place orders as required.

Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a cook or within a catering environment.
- A solid understanding of:
- Special dietary requirements and nutritional needs.
- meal planning, portion control, and waste management.
- Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification (essential).
- NVQ Level 2 in Hospitality, Food Preparation & Cooking, or equivalent (advantageous).
- Ability to adapt recipes to meet diverse resident preferences and health conditions.
- Committed to maintaining high hygiene and food safety standards.
- Positive attitude and strong customer service orientation.
