Cook/Catering Assistant Required – Birmingham Airport

Permanent Position | 30 hours per week (Mon-Sun, shift work)

Salary & Additional Benefits

  • Pay rate: £13.49 per hour
  • Night allowance: +£0.85/hour (23:59–06:00)
  • 5 years UK work references required

Job Summary

As a Cook/Catering Assistant, you will be a key member of our Back of House team, reporting to the Team Leader and responsible for:

  • Food preparation, replenishment, and presentation
  • Maintain(SOP) adherence for food quality & safety
  • Ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, and efficient kitchen operations

Responsibilities

Your core duties will include:

  • Managing the kitchen area, ensuring safety, hygiene, and operational efficiency
  • Preparing and presenting hot and cold food offerings for self-service stations
  • Adhering to all SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to maintain excellent service standards
  • Correctly storing, handling, and packaging food (complying with FSA L2 requirements)
  • Monitoring and recording hot food temperatures and cold storage compliance
  • Assisting the Back of House team with additional duties as needed
  • Adhering to reasonable ad-hoc requests from leadership

Note: Responsibilities may vary based on location and customer requirements.


Qualifications & Competences

We are seeking candidates with:

  • A background in high-volume kitchen operations (preferably Food Service)
  • A passion for hospitality and exceptional service
  • Strong teamwork and self-motivation abilities
  • Ability to follow strict processes while remaining flexible as required
  • Commitment to shifts, including unsocial working hours if applicable
