Cook - Part Time

Cook – Kirklees Residential Home – Grimsby

Make a difference every day and give back to your community! – Approx. 14.5 hours per week


About the Role

Based at Kirklees Residential Home in the seaside town of Grimsby, this specially designed home supports 21 residents with a range of learning disabilities and mental health conditions. Our team provides dignified, compassionate care—so we’re looking for a Cook who is patient, understanding, and respectful of each resident’s individual needs.


Responsibilities

As our Cook, your duties include:

  • Preparing meals, snacks, and beverages tailored to residents’ dietary requirements
  • Conducting quality checks on food preparation and storage
  • Planning menus based on residents’ preferences, ensuring a balanced diet
  • Assisting with dignified dining arrangements, ensuring residents enjoy comfortable mealtime experiences
  • Maintaining stock records, ordering supplies, and keeping accurate documentation in line with company policies and food safety standards
  • Ensuring the kitchen remains clean, hygienic, and well-organised, including deep cleaning where necessary

Requirements

  • A genuine desire to care – Wanting to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents
  • Cooking experience – Preferably with a Food Hygiene or Catering qualification (though we can provide training if needed)
  • Strong attention to detail – Ensuring food safety, hygiene and accurate stock management
