The Role

As a Coordinating Authorised Person, your role is critical in ensuring operational excellence and compliance across QinetiQ and Ministry of Defence (MOD) sites. You will act as a bridge between the Senior Authorised Person, site Authorised Persons, and Estates Delivery teams while providing technical guidance on JSP (Joint Services Publication) safe systems of work, compliance, and assurance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Embed Safe System of Work improvement programmes across regional operations
  • Assist the Senior Authorised Person (SAP) and site Authorised Persons (APs) in planning and delivering JSP-compliant activities
  • Coordinate statutory compliance (JSP 375 SSoW) by maintaining regular contact with site-based APs
  • Monitor and review performance, track trends, and escalate issues to the SAP regarding JSP compliance
  • Ensure robust adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations across your scope
  • Maintain asset safety and compliance by escalating prioritised issues to site Estates Delivery teams
  • Serve as a mentor and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for JSP375 Chapter 5 disciplines to support existing site APs

Essential Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar Coordinating AP role
  • Prior hands-on experience as an Authorised Person (AP) in regulated industries
  • A proven track record in Health & Safety compliance

Essential Qualifications

  • Current AP Certificate in one or more JSP disciplines (e.g., Hazardous Areas, Mechanical Systems, Confined Spaces, Petroleum, HV/LV Electrical)
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification
  • Full, unrestricted driving licence

(Education or background diversity is valued—equally important are experience and a willingness to learn.)


Work Details

  • Hours: 37 hours per week (based at Pendine, Aberporth, or Malvern, with regular travelling to other QinetiQ or customer sites required)
  • Location: Wales/West Midlands & West Wales
