Job Description
Senior Manager – Business Tax — Bristol
What will you be doing?
As a Senior Manager you will take ownership of delivering tax services to your clients, developing the team around you, and expanding our services as the client’s needs evolve.
You’ll apply your expertise across compliance and advisory services, actively participate in and contribute to our marketing initiatives.

- Management and oversight of a team of qualified and part-qualified tax professionals, including all aspects of performance management
- Developing and maintaining long-term relationships with:
- Clients
- Potential clients
- Senior leaders across S&W’s practice areas and office locations
- Leading the delivery of a high-quality, proactive tax service via:
- Client engagements in accordance with best practice procedures, internal controls, and review processes
- Monitoring project progress, managing risk, and ensuring key stakeholders are informed on:
- Progress reports
- Expected outcomes
- Budget and timeline variances
- Promoting an innovative and inclusive team-oriented environment, including:
- Mentoring and coaching junior team members
- Acting as a technical expert with a strong knowledge and application of tax principles and standards
- Contributing to:
- The growth and development of the Tax practice
- Business development activities
- Financial objectives (targets for new business, lest feeding, and cash collection)
- Identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities for:
- Processes and procedures
- Participation in strategic and technology projects within the Tax practice
Requirements
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Significant corporate tax experience within the profession and/or industry
- The ability to:
- Work with current legislation
- Assist in highly detailed client work
- Demonstrated experience with:
- Mentoring people and clients
- The drive to develop and refine your business development skills to support business growth

Professional Qualifications and Education
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CA) and/or tax advisor (CTA)
