Overview
Location: Twickenham
Hybrid Working: 3 Days in the Office
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 Depending On Experience
Automotive Studio is the award-winning in-house content agency of Autocar and What Car?, helping brands promote their products and tell their stories through engaging, editorial-style native content.
We’re looking for a talented and ambitious Copywriter to create engaging content about the latest cars and automotive lifestyle products for a long list of high-profile clients. Working on content across print, online, social and video, you will be able to balance your creative ideas with a realistic, cost-effective, and time-efficient approach to client briefs.
Reporting into the Senior Copywriter, the Copywriter will work alongside Automotive Studio’s art, project management, and client teams to contribute ideas for new work as well as deliver on existing briefs. The work of the department is varied and flexible, and you will be required to write copy across multiple brands and platforms.
Responsibilities
- Write engaging and accurate copy - across print, web, social and video - that works for our readership and achieves the business goals of the client.
- Maintain high standards of writing and factual accuracy in all your output, taking on feedback from the team and clients.
- Participate in creative sessions and work collaboratively with the team on exciting ideas for new business pitches.
- Keep abreast of what our competitors are doing.
- Pitch in for wider team tasks, such as awards entries, updating the team website and contributing to Studio social channels.
- Upload completed content to the CMS and update client pages.
- Assist the team on external shoots, whether logistically or creatively.
Skills / Experience / Knowledge / Minimum Criteria
- Proven experience in copywriting within digital product environments
- Strong portfolio demonstrating impactful work across landing pages, in-product messaging, and conversion flows
- Exceptional ability to write clear, concise, and engaging copy for complex user journeys
- Experience optimising copy for performance, including A/B testing and data-informed iteration
- Deep understanding of tone of voice, content hierarchy, and accessibility best practices
- Comfortable working as an embedded partner within design teams, influencing product decisions through language
- Confident operating as a sole copy practitioner, setting standards and driving quality independently
- Must have a driving licence and be comfortable with driving unfamiliar cars.
