The Royal Academy of Music

About the Role

We are seeking a creative and musically aware Copywriter and Publications Manager to create engaging marketing and communications copy for the Academy and be guardian of our house style.

You will be responsible for generating and coordinating copy for all Academy publications – printed and digital. You will write, edit and proofread copy, and manage the content and/or schedule for the publication of termly What’s On Brochures, annual Guide, concert, opera and musical theatre programmes, internal newsletters, speeches and any other publications or digital content as required.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and coordinate copy for all Academy publications – printed and digital
  • Write, edit and proofread copy
  • Manage the content and/or schedule for the publication of termly What’s On Brochures, annual Guide, concert, opera and musical theatre programmes, internal newsletters, speeches and any other publications or digital content as required

Requirements

  • Self-motivated with excellent organisational and project management skills
  • Exceptional writer with strong classical music knowledge
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across a wide range of audiences
  • Flexibility, a positive attitude and the ability to work under pressure
  • Previous experience of copywriting and editing documents and adhering to style/brand guidelines
  • Demonstrable background in creating and managing complex schedules
  • Experience working in publications within the arts or higher education sectors would be an advantage
