Senior Copywriter (UX & In-App Content) – Auto-Sector Focus
Hybrid, Permanent Role
About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Copywriter specialising in UX writing and in-app content to join WPP Enterprise Solutions, embedded directly within a leading automotive client’s App Operations team. This hybrid position offers the ideal opportunity to:
- Shape the user experience of a major automotive app through precision UX writing
- Craft clear, concise, and user-first copy for dynamic in-app flows, notifications, and support materials
- Collaborate across UX/UI design, product, development, and legal teams to elevate digital customer journeys
Your expertise will transform complex automotive functionalities into intuitive, engaging, and trust-building communication—bridging data-driven features and human-centric needs.
Principal Responsibilities
🔹 In-App Content & UX Writing Expertise
- Lead full lifecycle content creation for all in-app touchpoints, including:
- Microcopy (buttons, labels, error states, tooltips)
- Onboarding sequences and user guidance flows
- Feature explanations (e.g., telematics, connected car functionalities)
- Success confirmation messages, alerts, and empty-state UX
- Develop push notifications and in-app messaging that drive engagement and task completion.
- Translate technical automotive specs (e.g., vehicle diagnostics, subscription models) into accessible, human-language narratives.
🔹 User Guidance & Support systems
- Collaborate with UX/UI teams to ensure seamless integration of copy into wireframes and prototypes.
- Build FAQs, in-app help sections, and release notes to reduce support queries and friction.
- Identify points of user error minimisation through strategic copy placement (e.g., preemptive guidance).

🔹 Cross-disciplinary collaboration
- Partner with App Operations teams (UX designers, PMs, developers) to adapt content for mobile constraints (e.g., small screens, short attention spans).
- Participate in user research and usability testing, providing data-backed refinements.
- Present copy strategies to stakeholders, advocating for behavioural insights to enhance user satisfaction.
- Act as a voice-and-tone authority, ensuring brand consistency while prioritising utility and usability for an automotive audience.
Key Requirements
🔧 Technical & Functional Skills
- Proven portfolio of mobile-first UX copywriting (iOS/Android), demonstrating clear evidence of in-app copy mastery.
- Deep understanding of automotive ecosystems, from owner journeys to connected car tech (e.g., V2X, subscription ecosystems).
- Awardsbug or simplified bullet list about it: Expertise in short-form, high-scannability copy for fast-paced mobile environments.
- Ability to decode technical specs (e.g., diagnostic codes, EV charging APIs) into user-friendly language.
- Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies in a multi-priority technical product team.
🎯 Personality & Process Fit
- Autonomous with an eye for clarity, tone alignment, and particularism of mobile UX.
- Analytical empiricist: leverages user testing data to refine copy and predict pain points.
- Collaborative tactful: facilitates cross-team discussions on content direction, doggedly advocating for UX writing principles.
