Senior Long-Form Copywriter – Automotive (Permanent)

About the Role

We seek an exceptional and strategically minded Senior Long-Form Copywriter to embed directly within a leading automotive client on a permanent basis. This hybrid role is ideal for a seasoned storyteller passionate about the automotive industry, capable of crafting compelling, insightful, and conversion-driven narratives throughout the customer lifecycle—from research and discovery through ownership and loyalty.

As a key contributor, you’ll help shape the client’s brand voice and content strategy, translating technical and complex automotive concepts into accessible, engaging copy that educate, engage, and convert.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Content Creation

  • Lead the development and execution of long-form automotive content, including:
    • Detailed vehicle feature pages
    • Product guides & comparison articles
    • Blog posts & thought leadership
    • Whitepapers & case studies
    • SEO-optimised website editorial
    • Email nurture sequences
    • Evergreen content pieces
  • Translate automotive tech, engineering specs, and brand values into clear, persuasive messaging.
  • Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines, tone of voice, and marketing strategies, supported by SEO optimization.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers, product managers, marketing strategists, and SEO specialists to deliver an integrated, user-focused experience.

Research & Insights

  • Drive deep industry research on:
    • Automotive trends (EVs, autonomous driving, connectivity)
    • Competitor differentiators
    • Target audience preferences
    • Emerging mobility concepts
  • Refine content strategy using customer data, market insights, and user research.
  • Partner with data teams to measure performance and optimise content effectiveness.

Customer Journey & Conversion Focus

  • Map content to automotive customer stages (awareness → consideration → purchase → loyalty).
  • Embed clear CTAs and conversion-focused language in long-form narratives.
  • Support UX/UI improvements through user-friendly, action-driven copy.

Collaboration & Project Management

  • Lead multiple content projects across diverse formats while maintaining deadlines, budgets, and quality.
  • Engage stakeholders to clarify requirements, refine strategies, and iterate based on feedback.
  • Act as an automotive content SME, offering expert guidance internally and to client teams.

Essential Requirements

Industry Expertise & Experience

  • Strong automotive knowledge (technical and consumer-focused), with a preference for luxury, innovative, or premium brands.
  • Proven track record writing long-form content (articles, whitepapers, web pages) with tangible results.

Core Skills

  • Autonomous, initiative-driven mindset in fast-paced environments.
  • Superior research skills—analysing complex subjects while synthesising accessible, engaging narratives.
  • SEO acumen—balancing following head keywords, maintain readability, and brand alignment.
  • Precision in editing & fact-checking to ensure flawless grammar and accuracy.
  • Customer-first mindset—understanding how content impacts loyalty and purchasing decisions.

Collaboration & Adaptability

  • Clear communication for presenting strategies, gathering feedback, and collaborating across functions (marketing, product, legal).
  • Adaptability to hybrid/agile workflows, managing priorities, and resolving uncertainties.
  • Brand voice mastery—adapting tone to align with the automotive client’s identity.
