Core Platform Software Engineer | C#/.NET | Azure | SQL Server | Energy Trading | Up to £105,000 + Benefits

I'm currently partnering with a leading global organisation within the energy trading sector who are looking for an experienced Core Platform Software Engineer to join their London-based engineering team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on business-critical platforms that underpin the full trading lifecycle across global energy markets. You'll help develop and enhance solutions supporting trade capture, valuation, risk, settlement and operational processes while working with modern Microsoft technologies and cloud platforms.

You'll join a collaborative engineering team, working closely with technical specialists and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-quality software that supports a fast-paced trading environment. The role offers exposure to modern.NET development, Azure technologies, automation, cloud data platforms and enterprise application architecture.

💰 Salary - Up to £105,000 and Benefits
📍 Location - London
📝 Office Work - 3 Days Per Week

Key Skills Required:

  • Strong commercial experience developing software using C#/.NET and SQL Server
  • Experience building modern APIs and enterprise applications using .NET Core/.NET
  • Knowledge of Azure technologies such as Data Factory, Databricks or similar cloud services
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and software delivery best practices
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and ORM frameworks such as Entity Framework
  • Experience improving automation, testing frameworks and deployment processes
  • Ability to work closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders
  • A proactive approach to improving platform performance, reliability and scalability

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Designing, developing and enhancing core trading platform capabilities
  • Building and supporting APIs, integrations and enterprise applications
  • Developing cloud-based data solutions and automation using modern Azure technologies
  • Driving improvements across CI/CD pipelines, testing and software delivery
  • Working closely with business users to understand requirements and deliver robust solutions
  • Supporting critical production systems while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Contributing to platform architecture, resilience and long-term scalability
  • Working within an agile engineering environment focused on delivering high-quality software

Experience within energy trading, commodities, financial services or another highly data-driven environment would be highly beneficial, although candidates from other enterprise software backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
