Core Subject Tutor
At Pathway Academy Zone, you will be working with young people who need more than just lessons - they need structure, belief, and someone who can genuinely engage them.
Before applying for this role, please read the following information about this opportunity found below.
We are a new school in North Northamptonshire, and because of that, this role is rare. You will not just be delivering a curriculum handed down to you - you will help shape how learning is delivered here. You will have a direct line to leadership, real influence over the school’s development, and the opportunity to build something that lasts.
We are looking for a Core Subject Tutor who can deliver English, Maths and Science, while also contributing to a broader curriculum that supports personal development and real-life readiness. You will work with small groups and on a 1:1 basis, helping learners who may have faced barriers in mainstream education to re-engage and progress.
What You Will Be Doing
- Delivering engaging sessions across English, Maths and Science (KS3/KS4)
- Supporting delivery of wider curriculum areas including PSHE, RSHE, Humanities, RE and PE
- Adapting teaching approaches to suit individual learning needs
- Working closely with learners with SEMH and additional needs
- Building strong relationships to improve behaviour and engagement
- Monitoring progress and maintaining clear, accurate records
- Supporting learners towards positive outcomes and progression

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
