The Energy Transition Needs People Who Make Things Run Smoothly
Commercial transport is one of the hardest parts of the energy transition challenge. It’s complex, fragmented, and moving fast, and the infrastructure to support it barely exists yet. That’s exactly why we’re building it at Aegis Energy.
Aegis Energy is developing a network of 50+ clean energy hubs across the UK, giving truck and van fleets genuine, practical access to electric charging, hydrogen, HVO, and bio-CNG. We’re not waiting for the transition to happen. We focus on meeting the demands of the commercial vehicle sector.
We’re looking for an administrative hire to join our Finance, Sustainability and Corporate (FSC) team in Wakefield. This team sits at the heart of our business; covering finance, HR, facilities, IT, sustainability, and corporate governance. FSC’s role is to support the growth of the business, and create the environment, culture, and structures whereby we can succeed in our mission. We’re looking for someone dynamic and organised who can work across this team to support our growing business, and ready to learn in a fast-paced business.
About the Role
This is primarily an administrative and office management position at the centre of our day-to-day business operations. You will be the person who keeps things running, helping to make sure our teams have everything they need to perform at the highest level.
You will work alongside the wider FSC team across a range of projects and processes. This will include supporting the organisation of company events, helping to manage our corporate IT service provider and IT assets, ensuring our office is well-organised and supplied, and supporting sustainability reporting. You will have direct exposure to senior leadership, with a central role in actively shaping a fast-growing business.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
This is a hands-on, varied role. No two days will be identical, and you will need to be comfortable switching between tasks and priorities. For instance, you might be working on event planning in the morning and then IT administration, setting up PCs for new starters in the afternoon. A successful candidate will be well-organised and able to prioritise between competing tasks, communicating clearly with peers and management about what will be completed, and by when. You will be supported by the wider FSC team with an excellent culture of service support that will take an active role in mentoring your professional development.
Some Examples of What You Will Be Working On
-
Office administration & facilities
- Act as the first point of contact for all office and facilities matters, managing incoming requests, coordinating with building management and cleaners, proactively improving the environment for effective work by your peers, and keeping the space in good order day to day.
-
Supplier management
- Manage relationships with office suppliers and contractors across cleaning, maintenance, utilities, security, office IT hardware and consumables; you will handle quotes, purchase orders and scheduling of simple office maintenance works.
-
IT support management
- Day-to-day point of contact for our IT service support provider, helping them to resolve staff IT issues, onboard/offboard staff, manage IT assets and help ensure the cyber security of our systems and processes.
-
Company events
- Support organisation of company offsites, shareholder events and key leadership meetings.
-
General administration
- Handle day-to-day administrative tasks across the business: filing, document management, post, courier bookings and ad hoc support to the leadership team.
-
ESG reporting support
- Under the guidance and leadership of the Finance Director and others in the Sustainability working group, help prepare content for internal and external sustainability reporting and stakeholder communications.
-
Sustainability initiatives
- Help coordinate sustainability initiatives within the office — recycling, energy efficiency, responsible procurement — and champion these with the wider team.

- Cross-functional support
- Contribute to business-wide projects alongside the wider team, picking up operational tasks as priorities shift, and identifying ways to use tools and technology (and AI tools like Claude in particular) to make processes faster and easier.
This role is a launchpad. There is a clear pathway to grow into a broader business support role in HR, IT or a sustainability-focused role as you build experience and the business scales.
You Will Thrive Here If
- You have previous experience in an office administration, facilities, operations or reception role; this matters more to us than formal qualifications.
- You are highly organised and take real pride in keeping things running smoothly and on time.
- You are a confident communicator with suppliers, contractors, colleagues and visitors, professional, clear, and quick to follow up.
- You are comfortable working with basic corporate IT systems (Microsoft 365), maintaining asset lists, setting up new PCs for new users (with our IT service provider), installing basic software, tracking metrics, and spotting when something doesn’t add up.
- You are proactive and self-sufficient: you notice what needs doing and get on with it, without waiting to be asked.
- You are open to using AI (Claude in particular) to work more efficiently and improve the processes you own.
- You are genuinely motivated by the energy transition and want to work somewhere where your contribution to a cleaner future is tangible.
- You have evidence of the right to work in the UK at the expected start date of the role.
