The Opportunity

An established and highly regarded South West law firm is seeking an ambitious Associate Solicitor to join its growing Corporate and Commercial team. Following continued expansion and significant investment in its business services offering, the firm is looking to strengthen its commercial practice with the addition of an experienced lawyer who enjoys working closely with businesses and owner-managed companies.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and forward-thinking team advising a broad range of clients, from start-ups and SMEs to larger corporate organisations across a variety of sectors.

The Role

You will advise clients on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, providing practical, commercially focused legal solutions. The role offers exposure to high-quality work and the opportunity to build long-term client relationships while supporting the ongoing growth of the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising clients on business sales, acquisitions, mergers and reorganisations
  • Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and trading terms
  • Advising on shareholder agreements, joint ventures and strategic partnerships
  • Supporting clients with intellectual property matters, including licensing agreements
  • Drafting and negotiating supply, distribution, manufacturing and consultancy agreements
  • Advising directors, shareholders and business owners on day-to-day commercial issues
  • Managing your own caseload efficiently and independently
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members
  • Contributing to networking, marketing and business development initiatives

About You

Applications are welcomed from qualified Solicitors or Chartered Legal Executives with experience in corporate and commercial law. The firm is open regarding level of PQE and will consider candidates who can demonstrate the required technical expertise and commercial awareness.

  • Strong background in corporate and commercial law
  • Experience drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements
