We are expanding our Strategic Finance team in the West of Scotland as part of an ambitious growth plan to significantly increase our presence in the mid-market and sponsor-backed segment. This is a unique opportunity to join a high-performing team with strong momentum and a clear mandate to grow.

As a Corporate Associate Director, you will support the origination, structuring, and execution of complex senior debt transactions across the West of Scotland. You will be responsible for deal leadership, from initial origination through to execution, and will support the build of a high-quality portfolio of mid-market, corporate, and sponsor-backed clients.

You will work closely with Senior Directors across the end-to-end origination, evaluation, and execution of senior cashflow and asset-based lending transactions. You will help develop deep relationships with private equity sponsors, corporate clients, and professional advisers, positioning yourself as a trusted partner in the regional deal ecosystem and enhancing the visibility of our Strategic Finance team in the West of Scotland.

Operating across the West of Scotland, this will involve supporting the development of a strong local network, increasing in-market activity, and developing new client relationships in the region.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

At Nationwide, we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK-wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.

For this role, you will be part of our growing Business Banking team, meeting with and supporting customers across your assigned region. You'll be covering the West of Scotland region, so you will need to be based locally, as you will be expected to travel regularly across this region. Additionally, there will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events in one of our locations. These are currently expected to take place weekly in Glasgow, however, the location may vary. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works.
