EU Product & Environmental Compliance Senior Counsel – Amazon UK Services Ltd.
About the Role
Join Amazon’s innovative EU legal team, focused on enabling business growth through smart risk-taking—empowering selling partners, business customers, and builders of the Amazon shopping experience to innovate and achieve global success while protecting customer, brand, and selling partnership trust in our European stores.
Amazon is seeking an experienced lawyer to support European Stores businesses on compliance efforts across strategic product and environmental compliance and safety topics. In this role, you’ll:
- Advise and apply novel and evolving regulatory requirements for products sold in Europe, with a particular emphasis on:
- New Legislative Framework
- Market Surveillance Regulation
- General Product Safety Regulation
- Digital Services Act
- Lead the design and implementation of compliance strategies for emerging tech regulations, such as:
- EU Data Act
- AI Act
- Cyber Resilience Act
- Horizon scan EU and Member State regulations, assessing their impact on Amazon while leading an AI-driven compliance tracking programme.
- Collaborate with legal teams globally and across Amazon’s business units to ensure Amazon’s EU Stores remain the safest and most trusted platform in Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Horizon Scanning & Governance
- Lead an EU-wide regulatory horizon scanning program, designing its governance and coordination model to anticipate fast-moving regulatory changes.
- Connect the EU legal team across jurisdictions to facilitate timely, unified responses.

Cross-EU Compliance Collaboration
- Establish scalable workflows for sharing effective compliance strategies across the EU team.
- Align the work of diverse legal advisors managing novel EU legislation.

Strategic Compliance & Creative Problem-Solving
- Advise on complex legal and compliance solutions, balancing risk mitigation with business agility.
- Support business leaders and teams in compliance, safety, and environmental risk management.
- Collaborate with the public policy team to shape and influence upcoming EU legislation.
- Resolve regulatory conflicts and facilitate proactive risk management.
About the Team

- Selling Partners (third-party sellers on Amazon EU)
- Amazon Business (B2B enterprise solutions)
- Regulatory Intelligence, Safety, and Compliance
- Amazon’s shopping experience teams (developing customer-facing features)

Mission:

- Build constructive relationships with regulators.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- Valid law license in:
- The EU
- The US
- Any common law jurisdiction
- 5+ years of post-qualification legal experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of EU legal AI tools (e.g., CoCounsel, Spellbook, Harvey AI) and their benefits.
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, priority-driven environment.
- Fluent speaking/writing/reading in French, Spanish, German, or Italian.
