Manager / Senior Manager – Independence Team

About the Role

The Firm’s Independence Team is seeking an accomplished Manager or Senior Manager who is:

  • Solutions-focused
  • Skilled at building relationships

The role demands someone with:

  • A practical, thorough, and positive approach to problem-solving
  • Strong attention to detail
  • An ability to cope under pressure
  • Confidence to liaise with individuals across all levels of the firm
  • Enjoyment in acquiring new knowledge
  • The capability to deliver difficult messages when necessary

Ideal candidates will have:

  • A strong track record of providing advice to clients or colleagues
  • Experience with, or familiarity of, Audit

Key Responsibilities

Supporting the International Network

  • Assist the PwC network and Audit engagement teams in applying independence rules during:
    • New client audit tenders
    • Situations requiring structured independence compliance assessments

Client Rotations and System Updates

  • Support audit client transitions when rotating off engagements, ensuring:
    • Firm systems are updated appropriately

Non-Audit Service Permissibility

  • Collaborate with engagement teams across all lines of service to navigate:
    • Competency checks for non-audit services
    • Acceptance of technology tools in compliance

Expert Independence Advice

  • Provide guidance on:
    • PwC’s independence policies
    • External regulations like:
      • Financial Reporting Council (FRC)
      • International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA)
      • Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
