Established in London in 2009, GT’s London office has expanded through strategic growth to become a full-service, multidisciplinary practice with more than 170 high-calibre lawyers. We provide tailored, partner-led strategic advice and efficient, cost-effective legal services to UK and international clients. Our London team advises on a broad spectrum of domestic and cross-border legal issues. Core practices include Corporate & M&A, Private Equity, Real Estate, Funds, Banking & Finance, Capital Markets, Restructuring & Insolvency, Dispute Resolution, and International Arbitration, supported by our wide-ranging experience in complementary areas such as Tax, Regulatory, Commercial, Energy, Infrastructure, Employment, Competition Law, Intellectual Property, and Data Protection. Reflective of London’s multifaceted business community, our client base is varied across many sectors, including life sciences, industrials, automotive, real estate, financial services, retail, sports, media, and communications, as well as financial sponsors and private capital.

Our commitment to building long-term relationships with clients as well as establishing new ones has led to the office being consistently recognised by leading legal directories, including Chambers & Partners and Legal 500. We were awarded Best Client Service at both The Lawyer Awards 2025 and The Lawyer European Awards 2025. In addition, creating a diverse and inclusive work culture that offers our employees the opportunity and support they need to succeed is a core value for us at GT. We want to ensure potential employees are supported through the recruitment process and therefore we are happy to discuss any reasonable adjustments that are required at any stage of the process or upon joining GT.

The Role

This is an opportunity for a Corporate Practice Innovation & Knowledge Lawyer, referred to internally as Practice Group Lawyer / Counsel, to play a central role in the development of the Corporate team’s knowledge, training and legal innovation capability. The role will support the team across M&A, private equity and general corporate advisory work, while also helping to shape how the practice uses AI, automation and other legal technology to improve the way we deliver advice to clients and support our lawyers.

Working closely with shareholders, fee-earners, the Innovation team and other business services colleagues, the successful candidate will help implement the Corporate team’s knowledge strategy and translate legal, market and operational needs into practical tools, resources and workflows. This will include maintaining and developing high-quality precedents and research materials; monitoring legal, regulatory and market developments; designing and delivering training; supporting client-facing thought leadership and business development; and identifying responsible, practical opportunities to embed AI and legal technology into the team’s day-to-day work.

This is a high-impact role for a strong corporate lawyer who wants to help shape the future of a leading transactional practice: building the knowledge infrastructure, tools and ways of working that enable lawyers to deliver excellent client service in a market being transformed by AI, data and technology.

Key areas of coverage:

  • Private M&A – acquisitions and disposals of by way of bilateral sale and auction
  • Private Equity – acquisition structures, shareholders agreements and management incentives
  • Joint Ventures – UK and cross-border JV agreements, governance mechanics, exit provisions
  • Public M&A - knowledge of the Takeover Code and Public M&A processes

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
