We’re expanding our SMB Sales team in the UK, and we’re recruiting Sales Specialists to generate new business opportunities across key regions—initially focusing on London, the South East, and the South West, while other UK-based territories are also being filled. Job Role: Sales Specialist (SMB UK)
What is the purpose of this role?
You’ll work to develop new business in the UK’s Small and Medium Business (SMB) segment, driving adoption of Elavon’s merchant services and payment solutions through activities such as:
- Prospecting and outbound outreach.
- In-person engagement.
- Collaborating with customer partners to refine solutions.
Our ambition is to turn "what if" into "how soon" for growing businesses. You will be helping to create relationships where long-term trust turns into market leadership—focusing on new customer acquisition, customer retention, and cross-sell opportunities.
Key Responsibilities

Prospecting and Pipeline Management
- Proactively generate new sales through self-sourced opportunities and partner-lead referrals.
- Drive self-generated pipeline via outbound sales processes and leveraging professional networks.
- Manage the full sales lifecycle from lead qualification to deal closure across our acquiring services and payment solutions.

Result-Driven Performance
- Achieve agreed new customer acquisition targets, ensuring consistent and measurable success in your assigned territory.
- Meet revenue goals set for this role, which are critical to your success at Elavon.

Customer & Market Engagement
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with lead and referral partners globally to create steady streams of opportunities.
- Represent Elavon clearly and credibly to potential clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
- Ensure comprehensive sales reporting, maintaining accurate pipeline activity and forecasting in line with company protocols.

Role-Specific Requirements
To success in this Field-Based Sales Specialist role, the following qualifications are required:
- 1-year minimum experience in merchant services or the broader financial services sector.
- Robust self-generated sales/prospecting background, with a strong track record proving your ability for client acquisition and relationship building.
- Validity of a UK driving license prior to commencing your employment.
- Time management and organisational skills to effectively juggle priorities, deadlines, and territory planning.
- Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written), empowering you to clearly convey value propositions and influence decision-makers.
- A proactive "can-do" attitude, agile to change and adept at navigating shifts in markets or processes.
Fitness and Probity
This role has been identified as a Controlled Function (Relevant to CF4) under the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 Regulations 2011. As such, Elavon must ensure compliance with these obligations.
