Corporate Security Planning Officer – Sheffield (Hybrid Role)

Hours & Contract

  • Hours: 37 hours per week (full-time)
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Salary: Grade 8 – £39,153 – £41,772
  • Location: Sheffield (Hybrid role, minimum of 3 days per week in the office)

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Corporate Security Planning Officer to join our Emergency Preparedness and Corporate Security team.

This key role will strengthen SYMCA’s organisational security, protecting people, services, and communities across South Yorkshire. You will support the delivery of a corporate security framework, ensuring resilience against evolving risks.

ℹ️ Vetting Required: NPPV3 clearance is mandatory for this role.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Support the implementation of SYMCA’s corporate security framework across all services.
  • Develop and deliver risk assessments and security plans to mitigate identified threats.
  • Contribute to organisational readiness through training, testing, and security exercises.
  • Provide expert security advice to colleagues and leadership.
  • Lead or support incident reviews to drive learning and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with partners across South Yorkshire to share best practices and strengthen response capabilities.
  • Play a role in security-related projects and broader organisational initiatives.

About You

You will be an organised, confident professional with experience in security, resilience, or related fields.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Security/resilience/risk management experience (in a supporting or delivery capacity).
  • Knowledge of security frameworks, legislation, and best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to assess risks and develop practical, proportionate solutions.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong relationship-building abilities.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
