Corporate Commercial Solicitor / Associate

City of London

£75,000 – £85,000 (DOE)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Corporate & Commercial Solicitor to join a well-established and highly regarded mid-tier Legal 500 law firm with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality commercial legal services to businesses and entrepreneurs. This role is ideally suited to a technically strong and commercially minded solicitor looking to work on sophisticated corporate transactions within a supportive, ambitious, and growing team.

The Role

You will work closely with experienced Partners and senior lawyers on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, acting for a diverse client base ranging from owner-managed businesses to larger corporate organisations. The successful candidate will gain exposure to high-value and complex transactions while being encouraged to take ownership of matters and develop strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising on a range of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, restructures, investments, shareholder matters, and corporate governance.
  • Drafting and negotiating key transactional documents including SPAs, shareholder agreements, investment agreements, disclosure letters, and ancillary documentation.
  • Supporting on complex corporate structuring matters and strategic business transactions.
  • Advising clients on commercial risk and transaction strategy.
  • Working closely with clients, accountants, tax advisors, and other stakeholders throughout transactions.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships while contributing to the continued growth of the department.

About You

This opportunity would suit a driven and technically strong solicitor who is looking to accelerate their career within a collaborative and commercially focused environment. You will ideally have:

  • A minimum of 1 year PQE within Corporate / Corporate & Commercial law.
  • Experience assisting on or managing aspects of M&A transactions, investments, restructures, or shareholder matters.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • A commercial mindset and the ability to provide pragmatic legal advice.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The confidence to work directly with clients and external advisors.
  • Ambition to progress and contribute to the long-term success of the team.
