Corporate Solicitor (5+ PQE)

We are looking for an experienced Corporate Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years’ PQE to join Harper James. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a dynamic and growing client base ranging from ambitious start‑ups and scale‑ups to established national and international businesses operating at the forefront of their sectors.

You will join a highly experienced transactional Corporate team within a modern, tech‑enabled law firm, working on a wide variety of corporate matters while benefiting from the support and collaboration of a strong national team.

What you’ll be doing

You will advise clients on a broad range of corporate transactions, supporting businesses through key stages of growth, investment and strategic development. You will manage transactions independently while also collaborating with colleagues on larger and more complex matters.

Our Corporate team is a dedicated corporate practice and works closely with colleagues across our Commercial, IP, Litigation, Real Estate and HR teams. This structure allows us to provide a full‑service offering to our clients while maintaining a strong focus on high‑quality corporate work.

Your work is likely to include advising on matters such as:

  • Mergers and acquisitions, business exits and disposals
  • Acting for investors in investment rounds and strategic investments
  • Supporting company clients through funding rounds
  • Founder equity and shareholder arrangements
  • Corporate restructures and group reorganisations
  • Shareholder agreements and corporate governance matters
  • Company formations and structuring for growth businesses
  • General corporate advisory work for founder‑led and high‑growth businesses

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
