Base salary: £66553 pa to £83191 pa depending on skills and experience. In addition, we offer flexible benefits fund of 20% which is paid on top base salary and is fully pensionable, as well as a range of competitive benefits - check them out in the Benefits section on our website.

As the Corporate Sponsor you will lead on ensuring efficient ways of working across the Sponsorship and Shareholder Relations Directorate, providing clear advice to Sponsorship colleagues and the wider HS2 Ltd business on requirements in the Development Agreement (DA) and Framework Document (FD) and establishing consistent processes for teams to follow.
The role also supports on cross-cutting issues where there is an interface with the Department for Transport (DfT), such as costs, funding and scope, and HS2 Ltd.'s input into DfT governance and external reviews of the programme and organisation.
About the role:
- To be accountable for leading the delivery of key work areas within the Sponsorship and Shareholder Relations Directorate, proactively building and maintaining relationships with DfT and the relevant colleagues within HS2 Ltd
- Management of the HS2 Development Agreement (DA), including acting as the single point of contact with DfT Client Team to agree and oversee DA change instructions, providing guidance to colleagues in Sponsorship and HS2 Ltd on DA issues and ensuring the DA remains fit for purpose as the programme evolves
- Management of the HS2 Ltd Framework Document (FD), including acting as the first point of contact with DfT Shareholder Team on shareholder and corporate governance issues, providing guidance to colleagues in Sponsorship and HS2 Ltd on FD issues and leading for HS2 Ltd on FD updates as required
- Ownership of the Requirements Management Framework to ensure effective management of HS2 Ltd’s consolidated set of top-level programme requirements
- Support to the Head of Corporate and Delivery Sponsorship and the Sponsorship and Shareholder Relations Director on HS2 Ltd’s participation in DfT and wider Government governance meetings, including Sponsor Board and the Ministerial Taskforce
- Responsible for corporate sponsorship activities that include liaison with DfT on Parliamentary Reports on the HS2 programme and DfT requests for briefings and information on cross-Phase issues (e.g. Management Information, Finance)
- Support the Head of Corporate and Delivery Sponsorship on cross-cutting issues where there is an interface with the Department for Transport (DfT), such as costs, funding and scope
- Supporting the Sponsorship Senior Management Team to build the capability and support the development of the Sponsorship team, including developing and embedding efficient ways of working, tools, processes and knowledge management
- Coordinate HS2 Ltd’s input into external reviews of the programme and organisation, ensuring that information provided to these reviews is accurate, timely and balanced and reflects the overall position of HS2 Ltd
- Actively promote and embed Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work, and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI
