This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Tax Manager to join a highly regarded and growing Tax Advisory team within one of the South East's leading independent accountancy practices.
The firm advises a diverse portfolio of owner managed businesses, SMEs and international clients, delivering commercially focused tax solutions across a broad range of corporate and advisory matters. With increasing demand for specialist advisory work, including international tax projects, corporate restructures and transactional support, this role offers excellent variety and genuine opportunities for professional development.
Whether you're already specialising in tax advisory or have built significant tax experience within an accounts or audit environment, you'll benefit from working alongside an experienced team of tax specialists who are committed to developing your technical expertise and supporting your long term career progression.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Advisory
- Provide tax advisory services across a broad range of corporate tax matters for SMEs and owner managed businesses.
- Draft technical reports, calculations and written advice covering a variety of tax planning projects.
- Liaise directly with HMRC regarding enquiries, clearances and technical matters.
- Attend client meetings and provide commercially focused tax advice alongside senior colleagues.
- Support Directors and Partners on complex advisory assignments.

- Advise on transfer pricing and cross border transactions.
- Support clients with overseas expansion, both inbound and outbound.
- Assist with corporate reorganisations, reconstructions and shareholder planning.
- Advise on investor reliefs including EIS and SEIS, as well as employee incentive schemes.
- Provide guidance on Corporate Interest Restriction matters.
- Deliver remuneration and succession planning advice for owner managed businesses.
- Prepare Research & Development claims.
- Support tax due diligence assignments, mergers and acquisitions, including Employee Ownership Trusts.
- Undertake Capital Allowances planning and reviews.
Compliance & Team Development
- Review corporation tax computations and tax returns.
- Identify tax planning opportunities for clients.
- Train, mentor and review the work of junior members of the tax team.
- Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and high quality service delivery.
Requirements
Skills & Experience
- CTA qualified is preferred, although ATT, ACA or ACCA qualified candidates with strong corporate tax experience will also be considered.
- Proven experience advising SMEs and owner managed businesses on corporate tax matters.
- Strong technical knowledge of corporation tax and business tax advisory.
- Experience with corporate reorganisations, shareholder planning and business restructures.
- Ability to review complex corporation tax computations and identify tax planning opportunities.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- Experience of international tax matters would be advantageous but is not essential.
- A proactive and commercially focused approach with a genuine interest in advisory work.
