What You’ll Do
Working collaboratively across BDO, you’ll:
- Provide Tax Advisory services that generate value and drive client success
- Develop long-term relationships by understanding their business contexts, fostering proactive engagement with Directors and Partners
- Lead complex projects—whether mitigating Competition Tax risks or introducing cutting-edge technology solutions
- Manage a substantial client portfolio, balancing profitability with growth opportunities
- Supervise and mentor junior colleagues, ensuring they’re supported and trained effectively
You’ll also:
- Identify and drive opportunities to enhance service delivery and upsell existing clients
- Monitor compliance with BDO’s quality controls and escalate risks transparently
- Guide billings, client acquisition, and recovery strategies to maximise revenue

Requirements
To thrive in this high-profile and high-impact role, you’ll need:
Performing Your Role
- Specialist tax expertise: Deep, up-to-date knowledge of British tax legislation, with proven experience tackling complex issues
- Project leadership: Experience managing projects with multiple stakeholders, from feasibility studies to third-party audits
- Client ownership: Profitably managing diverse client portfolios while seeking new business and service expansion
- Resource innovation: Expertise in optimising automated compliance tools and outsourced operations
- Risk management: Understanding how to mitigate BDO’s exposure under rigorous quality control frameworks
- Promoting growth: Strong eye for cross-selling opportunities within projects
Learn by Doing
- Qualifications: Degree level or ACA/CTA-equivalent qualification
- Experience: At least X years of post-qualification practice, proving client delivery skills alongside leadership
- Adaptability: Flexibility to move sectors and work within fast-changing Business Advisory services
