Role Overview

You will play a key role in overseeing tax compliance work, ensuring all requirements are met accurately and efficiently. This permanent role offers a chance to manage tax processes and contribute to ad hoc Tax projects outside of the compliance aspect.

Description

Direct Tax & Reporting

  • Manage the delivery of UK direct tax obligations, including the preparation, review and submission of corporate tax returns and supporting calculations.
  • Produce tax provisions and disclosures for both group reporting and statutory financial statements.
  • Support forecasting activities, including cash tax projections and quarterly tax payment assessments.
  • Contribute to periodic tax reporting requirements in line with group accounting standards.

International Tax Coordination

  • Oversee overseas tax compliance processes, working closely with external advisers to ensure obligations are met.
  • Maintain strong relationships with advisors and monitor key filing and reporting deadlines across jurisdictions.

Governance & Risk Management

  • Assist in the ongoing development and effectiveness of the organisation's tax governance framework.
  • Coordinate compliance activities relating to Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) requirements and Corporate Criminal Offence (CCO) legislation.
  • Promote robust controls and best practice across all areas of tax compliance.

Ad hoc Advisory & Project Work

  • Provide tax support on strategic initiatives, including acquisitions, restructures and broader business projects.
  • Keep abreast of legislative and regulatory developments, assessing implications and communicating key changes to stakeholders.
  • Review and oversee other tax-related obligations, including Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) and PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA) requirements.
  • Contribute to indirect tax initiatives and compliance activities as needed.

  • Mentor and support junior members of the tax team, providing guidance, coaching and development opportunities to enhance capability and performance.

Profile

A successful Tax Manager should have:

  • Strong knowledge of tax compliance and advisory practices in the business services sector.
  • Professional qualifications in tax or accounting, such as CTA, ACA, or ACCA.
  • Proven expertise in handling tax compliance processes and financial reporting.
  • Experience in advising on complex tax matters and implementing tax planning strategies.
  • Experience of working with Large UK Groups, International exposure a benefit but not essential.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Job Offer

  • Salary ranging from £55,000 to £65,000, dependent on the level of experience.
  • 10% performance-based bonus.
  • Hybrid working arrangements for better work-life balance.
