Corporate Tax Director

The Role

As part of our continued growth strategy, we are looking to recruit an experienced Corporate Tax Director to join our Tax Advisory team. The successful candidate will become part of a wider Corporate Tax practice and play a key role in delivering high-quality tax advisory services.

The role will involve advising clients on a broad range of tax matters, including corporate transactions, tax due diligence, corporate reorganisations, employee share incentives and matters relating to investment structures. Work will be undertaken alongside tax partners and colleagues across multiple office locations. The successful candidate will also be encouraged to develop their own client relationships, collaborate with colleagues across the business and work closely with the Corporate Finance team.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate can expect to be involved in a broad range of technically challenging work, including:

  • Working with partners to develop and implement the firm's go-to-market strategy.
  • Leading and collaborating on advisory projects for a diverse client base, including start-ups, entrepreneurial businesses, privately owned groups, large international organisations and investment funds.
  • Advising management teams and shareholders on business acquisitions and disposals.
  • Managing and coordinating tax due diligence assignments in collaboration with Corporate Finance, Employment Tax and VAT specialists.
  • Advising on and assisting with the implementation of corporate reorganisations, including capital reductions and statutory demergers.
  • Reviewing share purchase agreements, tax covenants and tax disclosure letters in connection with corporate transactions.
  • Preparing statutory and non-statutory clearance applications to HMRC.
  • Advising on the structuring of international groups and cross-border transactions, including liaising with overseas advisers where appropriate.
  • Advising on the tax aspects of property acquisitions and disposals.
  • Providing inheritance tax planning advice involving corporate shareholdings.
  • Advising on the interpretation and application of double tax treaties in relation to corporate transactions.
  • Working closely with tax compliance teams to ensure appropriate follow-up work arising from advisory projects.
  • Managing a varied portfolio of advisory work, with flexibility to tailor responsibilities in line with business needs and individual strengths.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
