Role Overview

You will manage and supervise the corporate tax team across our Manchester and Leeds offices, overseeing a specialist corporation tax (CT) compliance function for high-profile clients, including:

  • Large groups
  • Higher-risk accounts
  • Key strategic relationships

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Compliance & Advisory

  • Deliver a world-class corporate tax compliance service to clients
  • Identify and execute advisory project work arising from compliance engagements
  • Ensure clients benefit from a holistic tax and financial advisory service

2. Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise junior team members, including mentoring and performance reviews
  • Support career progression and ensure team members meet training objectives (e.g., CTA/ACA studies)

3. Collaboration & Client Relationships

  • Work closely with Tax Partners/Directors and other Sedulo departments (e.g., audit, financial planning)
  • Maintain strong client relationships at all levels, with excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Act as a strategic advisory point for clients to elevate client service

4. Operational Excellence

  • Ensure timely deadline management and compliance integrity
  • Contribute to firm-wide initiatives within the Sedulo Foundation (when applicable)

  • Qualified professional accountant: Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) / ACA / ACCA with at least 1 year of post-qualification experience in a private practice corporate tax role
  • Technical strength with a passion for continuous knowledge development
  • Demonstrated ability to lead advisory projects and identify upsell opportunities (compliance → advisory transitions, cross-service lines)
  • Experience in handling complex corporate tax scenarios (e.g., groups, higher-risk clients)
  • Professional communication skills (internal/external reports) and excherptibility
  • Strong commercial outlook with an appetite for new challenges
