Corporate Tax Manager (Bristol-Based Chartered Accountant Firm)

A growing Bristol-based firm of chartered accountants is seeking a Corporate Tax Manager to join their successful corporate tax team as a key strategic addition. This role offers the chance to manage high-impact compliance and planning projects, with clear progression opportunities in a dynamic, expanding firm.

As Corporate Tax Manager, you will:

  • Lead the delivery of complex tax compliance and advisory work for a diverse portfolio of clients, including:
    • OMBs, groups, corporates, and other entities
  • Manage a team of tax professionals, supporting their professional development through work reviews, mentorship, and training
  • Take ownership of a client portfolio, overseeing tax planning and advisory services, including:
    • Corporate restructuring (reconstructions, demergers, reorganisations)
    • Sale/disposition tax advice (Buy-side & sell-side transactions)
    • Capital allowances optimisation
    • Research & Development (R&D) tax credit advisory
    • Collaboration with the corporate finance team on major transactions
  • Drive innovation in tax strategy to enhance client value and aligned firm profitability.

Requirements & Profile

We are seeking a qualified professional with:

  • A qualifier in ACCA, ACA, ATT, or CTA, with a corporate tax specialty
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience (professional occupation clearly eligible for advancement to managerial level)
  • Specialised experience gained usually in a Top 4, Top 10, or Top 50 firm or a reputable independent accounting practice
  • Proven record of successfully leading and delivering complex tax planning/reporting projects
  • Strong relationship management skills, evident from an established client network
  • Ability to mentor, develop, and solve issues for a tax team
  • Self-motivation, if applicable will include remote delivery that meets agreed outcomes with flexibility
