Corporate Tax Manager – London (3 Days/Week Hybrid)

Pure Search are partnering with a leading UK headquartered retailer to hire a Corporate Tax Manager to join their expanding tax team in London.


About the Role

The Corporate Tax Manager will take full accountability for UK and international corporate tax obligations, overseeing return preparation, review, submission, and related documentation through a mix of internal execution and specialist external support.


Responsibilities

  • Own the entire lifecycle of UK and international corporate tax obligations, coordinating:
    • Return preparation, review, and submission
    • Supporting documentation development
    • Internal delivery and specialist external engagement
  • Lead statutory tax accounting activities under international reporting standards, including:
    • Provision calculations
    • Deferred tax positions
    • Disclosure requirements
    • Reconciliation processes
    • Source data validation
  • Produce tax analyses, financial projections, technical memoranda, and executive-level reporting to support:
    • Senior leadership oversight
    • Governance forums
    • Strategic planning
  • Develop and maintain transfer pricing frameworks, coordinating:
    • Supporting documentation
    • Practical implementation of intercompany arrangements across multiple jurisdictions
  • Evaluate tax impact of:
    • Organisational changes
    • Cross-border activities
    • Operating model adjustments
    • Permanent establishment exposures, ensuring risk identification pre-implementation
  • Collaborate with finance, operational, and specialist stakeholders to:
    • Assess proposed initiatives
    • Translate complex tax requirements into practical commercial recommendations
  • Monitor:
    • Emerging tax exposures
    • Governance obligations
    • Optimisation opportunities
    • Regulator/auditor interactions, including:
      • Responses and coordinating evidence
      • Technical explanations
  • Drive tax process improvements, including:
    • Controls and reporting workflows
    • Data management practices
    • Scalable compliance frameworks
    • Operational efficiency
  • Enhance reliability of tax reporting outputs

Requirements

  • Chartered qualification: ACA, ACCA, or CTA (or equivalent)
  • Must have UK corporate tax compliance & reporting experience
  • Ability to work 3 days per week in Central London office
    • No visa sponsorship available
  • Desirable (but not compulsory):
    • Corporate tax advisory experience
    • International tax knowledge
    • Transfer pricing expertise
