An established and independently owned accountancy practice is seeking a Tax Senior / Assistant Tax Manager to join its growing tax team. The firm is part of a wider network of UK practices united by shared standards and goals, and is recognised as one of the largest independent practices in Wales. Your new role
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality personal and corporate tax compliance services for a diverse client base, including owner-managed businesses and groups. You will manage your own portfolio, ensure technical accuracy and compliance, and work closely with clients, HMRC, and internal teams.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients.
- Delivering accurate and efficient tax compliance services.
- Communicating with HMRC regarding client matters.
- Ensuring all filing and reporting deadlines are met.
- Identifying and communicating tax planning opportunities.
- Reviewing and maintaining effective compliance processes.
- Assisting with more complex corporate tax work when required.
- Supporting and mentoring junior tax team members.

What you'll need to succeed
- Preparation of corporation tax returns, personal tax returns, partnership returns and P11Ds.
- Previous experience using tax software (CCH beneficial).
- Knowledge of VAT, Inheritance Tax and other relevant taxes such as SDLT.
- Experience managing a portfolio of clients.
- Confidence communicating with HMRC.
- Strong written communication skills for reports, letters and emails.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines.
- Experience within an accountancy practice environment.
