Senior Manager – Corporate Tax

About the Role

As a Senior Manager – Corporate Tax, you will oversee complex tax engagements, providing strategic advice on corporate tax compliance and planning. You will manage key client relationships, mentor teams, and contribute to business development initiatives. Your role drives technical excellence, client satisfaction, and the growth of the tax practice.

Core Skills

Client Focus

  • Demonstrates an understanding of client/customer needs, across all service lines
  • Provides exceptional client service (internal and external), recognising its value to Azets and clients
  • Anticipates industry and legislative changes impacting clients, offering proactive support
  • Customises services to align with client requirements for scope, deliverables, timing, and cost
  • Identifies client priorities and challenges, advising on process improvements for their success
  • Leads meetings with stakeholders confidently and maintains a regular in-person dialogue with clients as a point of contact, improving service and identifying sales opportunities

Technical Excellence

  • Ensures team skills align with high-quality work delivery through training and development
  • Collaborates across service lines to solve complex issues, communicating outcomes confidently
  • Proactively shares technical/industry updates within your area of expertise
  • Monitors legislative/regulatory changes impacting workflows and client service delivery

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in reviewing tax compliance and advisory work, delivering assignments ready for director/partner review with minimal, high-level feedback
  • Leads most tax engagements (excluding the most complex), ensuring delivery and managing risks ethically
  • Champions awareness of tax-specific technologies and innovates team usage
  • Balances risk, efficiency, and quality with ethical considerations
  • Manages resources dynamically, adapts to deadlines, and optimises team assignments
  • Builds internal and external networks for technical collaboration and business growth

Qualifications & Experience

Qualifications

  • Accountancy/tax qualification or equivalent experience (e.g., ATT/CTA/ACA/ACCA/CA)

Essential Experience

Developed the aforementioned core and technical skills through study and professional experience in an accountancy practice.
