The Opportunity
Join RSM’s Risk and Governance solution as an Associate Director in the Corporate Treasury Advisory team, a key part of RSM’s Consulting Service Line. The team specialises in advising corporates across treasury strategy, operating models, governance and controls, as well as supporting treasury functions to address liquidity, funding, cash management, and financial risk in today’s evolving market.
Client Base
Your work will span diverse industries, assisting:
- High-growth mid-market and private-equity-backed organisations
- Large listed companies across global sectors and jurisdictions
Responsibilities
This role will focus on:
1. Business Development & Client Portfolio Management
- Work closely with Partners and Directors to shape RSM’s corporate treasury offering in London.
- Proactively identify and target clients to develop the team’s capabilities and win new business, including:
- Active networking
- Writing proposals and presentations
- Contributing to thought leadership in the sector
- Lead strategic initiatives and business development activities, including:
- Developing engaging propositions and tender responses
- Participating in presentation pitches and event content creation
- Supporting seminar/webinar content on current treasury trends
- Manage an assigned client portfolio, ensuring:
- Strategic planning and costed service delivery proposals (for approval by Partners/Directors)
- Alignment with RSM’s quality and deadlines standards
2. Project Delivery & Team Leadership
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of client projects, emphasising:
- Effective stakeholder engagement (with CFOs, Group Treasurers, Finance Directors, and banking partners)
- Document reviews and gap analysis against leading practice and accounting/treasury standards
- Conducting structured client interviews and process walk-throughs
- Developing scalable solutions, reporting, and policy frameworks
- Quality assurance checks on work performed by team members
- Line management responsibilities:
- Mentor, develop, and grow a team of staff to progress their careers at RSM.
- Facilitate onboarding, performance reviews, recruitment, and team wellness.
- Support team members with health, safety, and personal development.

- Finance Function Support

- Deal Advisory and Restructuring
- Consulting solutions to provide innovative, integrated support to clients
Performance Impact Areas
As an Associate Director, you will directly contribute to:
✅ Ensuring on-time, high-quality delivery of consultation services for clients. ✅ Generating growth for RSM’s Risk and Governance solution, Corporate Treasury Advisory, and industry groups. ✅ Optimising client portfolio management, including:
- Budget-controlled scheduling for profitability
- Monitoring work quality, deadlines, and billing adherence
- Proactively addressing challenges to client billing recovery goals ✅ Team management, including performance support and skill development.
Core Focus Areas
Your work will encompass expertise in:
- Treasury strategy and operating model design
- Governance, policies, and controls audit/review
- Cash management and forecasting visibility
- Liquidity and working capital optimisation
- Funding strategies, debt advisory, and covenant reporting
- Financial risk management (FX, interest rates, commodities) and hedging
- Hedge accounting support (IFRS 9, documentation)
- Treasury management system (TMS) implementation support (e.g., Kyriba, SAP F/4HANA)
- Treasury transformation and target operating model design
- Bank relationship management and RFPs
- Treasury due diligence for transactions/re-financings
Travel & Commitments
- Travel may be required nationally or regionally as project needs arise.
- Holds responsibility for meetings outside core hours due to leadership role.

- Have equivalent experience in a leading professional services firm or large in-house treasury/finance function.
- Exhibit a ‘can-do’, proactive attitude with ability to thrive in multi-tasking and tight deadlines.
- Demonstrate leadership in business development, including tender evaluation and proposition design.
- Possess expert communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to build strong, influential relationships across organisations.
- Showcase a history of adding strategic value and driving operational change.
Key Experience Requirements
This role requires specific expertise:
✔ Senior corporate treasury experience (e.g., in-house treasury, banking, or advisory roles). ✔ Established professional network within the finance/treasury industry. ✔ Productive track record in securing new business (evidenced VMs tenders, RFPs). ✔ Proven track record in managing engagements, teams, and finances in a fast-paced environment. ✔ Hands-on experience with Treasury Management Systems (e.g., Kyriba, SAP S/4HANA, FIS, Embat). ✔ Comprehensive knowledge of accounting/treasury standards and operating frameworks.
Qualifications & Education
- Degree-level qualifications required.
- Preferred professional certifications:
- Chartered Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- AMCT/CTP/ACT (Associate/Chartered) professional treasure qualifications
