Corporate Trust Associate Relationship Manager
UMB’s Corporate Trust and Escrow Services is a nationally recognized and ranked provider of bond trustee and agency services to the corporate and municipal marketplaces. Our trust services go beyond traditional offerings to include:
- ABS (Asset-Backed Securities)
- Aviation
- Reinsurance
- Funeral trusts
- Escrow, transactional, and custodial solutions for corporations, not-for-profits, partnerships, and individuals
Our bond trustee and agency services cater to municipal and corporate/ABS issuers of taxable or tax-exempt debt, while our agency offerings address real-world needs across diverse clients.
About the Role
The Corporate Trust Associate Relationship Manager plays a critical supportive role by:
- Partnering with Relationship Managers
- Engaging directly with clients to deliver excellence in service
- Providing administrative, analytical, and operational assistance
- Assisting with performance data compilation
- Maintaining client records
- Coordinating with operations staff
- Facilitating clear communication between custodian banks and our clients
- Troubleshooting administrative and operational challenges
This role can grow in scope—expanding client interactions, managing more complex tasks, and offering flexibility to cross-train across corporate trust Specialty functions.

Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support
- Work alongside Relationship Managers to support existing corporate trust clients
- Proactively troubleshoot client inquiries and advocate for solutions
Operations and Compliance
- Maintain precise records using Microsoft products and UMB systems
- Ensure meticulous execution of client requests
- Compile and interpret performance data
- Coordinate internal workflows and cross-departmental collaboration
- Interface with custodian banks and external stakeholders
Communication and Problem-Solving
- Scale responses accordingly, from occasional questions to complex scenario resolution
- Leverage communication skills to engage client teams and internal partners
Growth Opportunity
Designated for a hands-on entry-level expertise with room to expand in both:
- Client interaction (expanded support/services to diverse constituencies)
- Complex problem-solving (tackling multi-functional redeployment issues virtually or on-site)
Role Requirements
- Requires a bachelor’s degree or its documented equivalent through work experience
- Five (5+) years of experience in relevant financial or administrative roles
Compensation and Geography
Salaries vary by region:
US Employees in California, Washington DC, New Jersey & New York Base: $54,220 – $79,020
US Employees in Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois & Multiple Asks Base: $49,510 – $72,340
US Employees in All Other States Base: $44,790 – $65,650
Commitment Note: These ranges reflect UMB’s starting estimates but may vary based on factors including location, seniority, and operational demand. This range does not cover future potential.
