Corporate/Commercial Lawyer (Consultant)

Locations: Cardiff | Swansea | Newport | Bristol
Working Pattern: Consultant | Self-Employed | Flexible
Fee Split Arrangement: No following needed - the firm has all the work for you

Join a Leading Traditional Welsh Law Firm

Are you an experienced Corporate or Commercial Lawyer looking for greater flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to maximise your earnings?

A well-established, traditional Welsh law firm is expanding its Consultant Lawyer network and is seeking ambitious Corporate/Commercial Lawyers to join the team across Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, or Bristol. Unlike consultancy-only legal businesses, this is a long-established full-service law firm with an excellent reputation, established client base, and strong referral network. Consultants become part of the firm while enjoying the flexibility of working on a self-employed basis.

The Opportunity

Working on a consultant basis, you will receive instructions from the firm on a case-by-case basis, allowing you to choose the work that suits your expertise and availability. You'll benefit from the backing, reputation, and infrastructure of an established law firm while maintaining complete flexibility over your workload.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
