In support of this, we are establishing a new response and management team within the HMRC Fraud Prevention Centre (FPC).


The Fraud Prevention Centre (FPC)

The FPC is a strategic unit within HMRC Security, focused on safeguarding customers and the organisation from identity-related fraud and emerging threats. Its mission is anchored on three pillars:

  • Protection
  • Detection
  • Responsiveness

All underpinned by advanced threat intelligence and customer support. The Centre collaborates across multiple functional areas, including:

  • Proactive Protection
  • Customer Support & Response
  • Strategy & Advisory

Job Description

Drive the Fraud Prevention Centre (FPC) Correspondence and Engagement Team—creating communications strategies and providing fraud communications advice, while supporting senior leaders in implementing the team’s communication strategy.

This role will involve:

  • Leading the internal communication strategy for FPC, elevating awareness about the team’s critical work.

  • Managing communication channels including bespoke products like newsletters, presentations, and briefings.
  • Planning and delivering all-staff calls and monitoring engagement performance.
  • Gathering feedback to reassess initiatives and make improvement-focused recommendations.

You will also assist G7 Correspondence and Engagement Lead in managing external communications such as handling:

Person Specification

You’ll draw on strong communication skills across both business and technical realms, with expertise in:

  • Clear and adaptive communication styles for diverse audiences.
  • Data-driven insights and advocacy for accessibility in all content formats.
  • Collaborative leadership—coaching, mentoring, and influencing HMRC stakeholders.
  • Advocacy for strategic goals and operational consistency.

Key Responsibilities

  • — Write adaptive internal and external communications, tailoring messages to different channels.
  • — Display leadership in digital campaigns, ensuring engagement-focused content.
  • — Ensure information accessibility and adhere to HMRC guidelines.
  • Advise senior team members in approach and formatting.

Essential Criteria

  • Strategic communications experience: Creating plans aligned with organizational goals.
  • Experience with digital content and multichannel messaging.
  • — Performance-tracking from metrics like engagement rates and reach.
  • Capability to lead or mentor project teams.
  • — Showcase a focus on evidence and process improvement.
  • — Willingness to earn a CISMP qualification.

Desirable Criteria

  • — Membership or active progression towards the Government Communications Service.

Additional Information

  • You will be vetted internally for a Security Clearance—achieving SC
  • Occasional travel and overnight stays will be required.
  • Location Information: Primary office: Telford Plaza, moving to Parkside Court. Temporary clarification provided upon offer.
  • Leeds Initial Opportuties: Considering internal resources.
