Company Secretarial Adviser – Fixed Term Role

We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Company Secretarial Adviser to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term basis.

About the Role

Working as part of a team, you will provide comprehensive company secretarial support and advice to client managers in line with Duncan & Toplis practice standards and relevant governmental regulations. Your duties include:

  • Supporting and training team members
  • Helping to refine internal processes, policies, procedures, and templates

Core Responsibilities

  • Handling the day-to-day company secretarial workload for an allocated client portfolio
  • Assisting with training needs and managing discrepancies/queries from team members to improve performance
  • Building and maintaining technical knowledge in company secretarial matters, leveraging specialist expertise to enhance the CoSec team’s value
  • Developing working relationships with clients and colleagues to foster trust and support all aspects of the role

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience within a company secretarial role
  • Be part-qualified (either through ICSA/CGI qualifications or relevant experience)
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • UK company law and regulation
    • Best practice standards
  • Strong IT skills, with database management experience
  • High-level attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Demonstrated professional and personal conduct, aligned with ethical behaviour standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to:
    • Work effectively and collaboratively within a team
    • Manage pressure, priorities, and expectations
