We are hiring for our client, an established and growing company based in Derry, to recruit a Cost Accountant. This Cost Accountant job offers the opportunity to join a successful manufacturing business operating within a specialist healthcare-related market, supporting costing, margin analysis, variance reporting and business performance across a wider group structure.
The successful Cost Accountant will work closely with the Cost Accounting Manager and wider finance, engineering and manufacturing teams to provide accurate costing data, meaningful analysis and insight into product costs. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manufacturing finance professional who enjoys working with data, improving processes and helping a business make better commercial decisions.

The Role:
- Provide consistent costing data and analysis across manufacturing operations
- Prepare detailed reporting on variances, product costs and margins
- Support the development of SAP processes and reporting capability
- Analyse daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual cost reports
- Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams on cost standards
- Identify opportunities to improve costing accuracy, reporting and business performance
- Support decision making through clear financial insight and commercial analysis

The Person:
- Minimum of 3 years' cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong cost systems background
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Sound understanding of accounting principles
- Strong Excel skills, with confident use of Outlook, PowerPoint and Word
- SAP experience would be highly desirable
- Experience working with manufacturing and engineering teams would be advantageous
- Able to prepare, interpret and communicate financial reports accurately
