Job Description: Cost Accountant
We are looking for a highly motivated Cost Accountant to join our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to play a key role in supporting business growth, profitability, and strategic decision-making across the organisation.
Korean language skills are highly desirable, as the role involves regular communication and collaboration with Korean-speaking stakeholders, colleagues, and parent company representatives.
Working closely with Finance, Operations, and Commercial teams, you will analyse and interpret financial and operational data, provide detailed cost analysis, and support the business in making informed commercial decisions. As a project-based business, you will also work closely with the Commercial team on new contracts and project costing.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct cost analysis for new and existing projects, including direct and indirect costs.
- Support contract and project pricing by providing accurate financial analysis and cost information.
- Contribute to profitability analysis by assessing product and project performance.
- Analyse revenue streams and cost structures to evaluate overall financial health.
- Provide meaningful financial insights to support strategic business decisions.
- Evaluate the financial implications of business, investment, and sales contract opportunities.
- Assist the wider Finance team with technical accounting queries.
- Analyse overheads and cost centre performance, including month-end reporting.
- Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts, month-end journals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support statutory reporting, group reporting, and internal audit requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
- Assist with the preparation of tax returns and compliance activities.
- Produce management reports and financial analysis for senior leadership.

About You
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience in a finance, accounting, or financial analysis role.
- Strong understanding of management accounting and cost accounting principles.
- Knowledge of general accounting standards and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience using accounting software and financial systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present financial data clearly.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across Finance, Operations, and Commercial teams.

Qualifications
- Educated in, studying towards, or qualified in an accounting qualification such as:
- AAT
- ACA
- ACCA
- CIMA
- CIPFA
Desirable
- Korean language skills (spoken and written).
- Experience working within a manufacturing, engineering, project-based, or commercial environment.
- Strong business, financial, and industry knowledge.
- Understanding of industry regulations, compliance requirements, and statutory reporting.
