The Advocate Group is proud to be partnering with a leading global FMCG manufacturer to recruit a Cost Accountant for one of its key UK manufacturing sites.

Working closely with Finance and Operations, you'll play a key role in driving the site's financial performance through accurate cost reporting, manufacturing analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
What you'll be doing
- Taking ownership of the site's month-end costing and financial reporting processes, ensuring an accurate four-day close.
- Preparing financial reports, reconciliations and detailed cost analysis.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning across the manufacturing site.
- Managing standard costing within SAP, maintaining accurate bills of materials and manufacturing cost data.
- Analysing manufacturing costs, labour, overheads, material usage and product profitability, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Monitoring financial and operational KPIs, investigating variances and providing meaningful commercial insight.
- Business partnering with Production, Planning, Engineering, HR and Operations to support decision-making and improve site performance.
- Supporting inventory reporting, stock reconciliations and cost accuracy.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes and manufacturing operations.

What we're looking for
- Previous experience as a Cost Accountant, Manufacturing Accountant, Assistant Management Accountant, Industrial Controller or a similar manufacturing finance role.
- Experience working within a manufacturing or industrial environment (FMCG or food manufacturing experience would be advantageous).
- Strong understanding of standard costing, manufacturing accounting and financial reporting.
- SAP experience is highly desirable.
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes of financial data.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- A proactive approach with the confidence to challenge, influence and build strong relationships across Finance and Operations.
- AAT qualified, studying towards ACCA/CIMA, or qualified by experience would be advantageous.
