Description

We are looking for a highly analytical and driven Cost Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will analyse, forecast and manage the costs associated with engineering projects and activities, ensuring maximum cost efficiency without compromising quality or performance. Working closely with Engineering, Finance, Procurement and Operations, you will provide financial insight that supports strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with the Engineering department on all costing activities. Conduct detailed cost analysis of engineering projects, identifying key cost drivers and opportunities for cost reduction. Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with wider financial objectives. Produce and maintain cost forecasts, providing accurate and timely information to support decision-making. Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives. Provide cost engineering support for new product development, from concept through to implementation. Work cross-functionally with procurement, finance, engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure integrated cost management. Generate regular cost reports, presenting insights and recommendations to management. Identify cost-related risks and develop mitigation strategies to maintain financial control. Manage and monitor KPI matrices for cost targets, challenging stakeholders to meet budget and reduction commitments. Chair, attend and actively participate in meetings as required. Work professionally and proactively in line with company processes and reporting structures. Support additional duties aligned with the role as reasonably required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
