Location: Multiple Locations (Manchester, London, Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, Bristol) Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time (with flexible working and core hours)

Within this team, estimating is central to strategic planning, from early business case formation to detailed delivery cost assurance and digital cost intelligence.
The Role
We are seeking motivated and experienced Cost Consultants (Estimators & Cost Planners) to specialise in the Infrastructure sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce estimates and cost plans at all stages of project maturity (from strategic business cases to delivery-phase planning).
- Conduct quantitative take-offs using industry best practices and software (e.g., NRM, RMM, CESSM, MMHW).
- Assure and challenge estimates and cost plans, ensuring commercial confidence.
- Develop benchmarking and cost intelligence models, including uncertainty and contingency analysis.
- Analyse cost data to identify cost drivers, trends, and risks, preparing clear Basis of Estimate (BoE) documentation.
- Collaborate with design teams, engineers, and stakeholders to align cost implications with project scope.
- Support the improvement of internal estimating tools, processes, and data.
- Participate in professional development, training, and networking opportunities.

Person Specification
We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds, but relevant experience is key. You may have:
- Experience in Estimating, Cost Planning, or Quantity Surveying within construction or infrastructure.
- Interest in specialising in Infrastructure Estimating & Cost Planning.
- Experience (desirable but not essential) on major infrastructure projects (Rail, Roads, Energy, Water, Utilities).
- A relevant degree in:
- Quantity Surveying
- Cost Management
- Engineering
- or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with a grasp of construction methods, project delivery, and commercial drivers.
- Professional membership (RICS, ACostE, CICES, CIOB etc.) is desirable but not mandatory. Gleeds supports professional growth and chartership.
