Cost Controller

PBS (Semco UK) are looking for a Cost Controller to join the team on a full-time permanent basis. The Cost Controller will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day financial control of assigned projects ensuring adherence to budget and preparing cost estimates by analysing proposals.

Details/duties:

  • Assist with overseeing project costs throughout all phases of a project.
  • Prepare, maintain and update project budgets and forecasts, ensuring the timely identification, analysis and communication of cost variances, risks and opportunities.
  • Assist with the confirmation, status and planning of job packages, hours and other project-related costs.
  • Create invoice documents and cost reports for both client and internal distribution.
  • Assist with reviewing contracts and purchase orders to understand all cost impacts on the project.
  • Prepare cost estimates by analysing proposals.
  • Identify labour, material and time requirements and calculate associated costs.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the cost control function and the provision of robust financial reporting.

  • Previous experience within a Cost Controller role within the Oil and Gas Industry
  • Experience within using Time Writing systems ideally MPower
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise and plan work tasks accordingly to meet strict deadlines
  • Excellent experience of Microsoft applications and ability to pick up systems
