Overview
Become a vital member of our Programme Services, Advisory and Controls practice, proudly taking on some of the world's most exciting and prestigious projects. Join us, and you'll be part of our collaborative environment, where everyone is supported to make the most of their talents. You'll be supporting multi-disciplinary and specialist project teams on niche and high-profile schemes across a range of sectors and key clients. In addition, you'll have the opportunity to develop your own skills alongside our internal capabilities within the wider practice.
We are looking to hire an Senior Cost Estimator to support our growing Project Controls team.
Your role
- Provide estimating service delivery, focusing on leading estimates from feasibility through to completion.
- Work across projects of different types and sectors. With estimates ranging high-level order of magnitude costs to producing first principal bottom-up estimates.
- Demonstrate and utilise an advanced understanding of the typical methods of measurements and have the ability to complete full take-off independently whilst providing support to colleagues where required.
- Have the ability to deliver high-quality client outputs, ranging from estimating direct and indirect costs, to and assuring estimates provided by others.
- Lead on peer review of outputs from other team members to support continuous improvement. And provide guidance to more junior colleagues in support of their growth and experience.
- Have the ability to independently author basis-of-estimate documents.
- Demonstrate proficiency and understanding of estimating specific software and generic office applications.
- Be able to utilise client, market and in-house benchmarking data to independently form and assess estimates.
- Lead internal review and quality assurance processes for client deliverables.
- Have strong stakeholder management skills, being able to manage and communicate complex issues in a straightforward format to achieve positive resolutions.
- Be a subject matter expert within our wider team to incorporate the best knowledge and information possible into client deliverables.
- Take a leading role in support of win work activities (bids, proposals, etc.) to grow our portfolio.

About You
- Bachelor's degree in an Estimating, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction sectors or Equivalent Work Experience, preferable.
- Desirable professional memberships, or working towards Chartership, RICS, ICE, AACE, ACostE or similar.
- Wider understanding of commercial and contractual requirements and the crossover to the impact on estimating or forecasting costs.
- Knowledge of indirect costs, cost breakdown structures and techniques to analyse and assess project deliverability.
- Stakeholder engagement skills including being able to work seamlessly with designers, engineers, project managers and clients.
- In possession of, or with the capability to obtain a level of security clearance (ideal but not always necessary for the right candidate).
