An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Cost Manager

To join a major infrastructure programme supporting the delivery of large-scale civil and capital projects. The role is hybrid, based in Greater Manchester and will pay up to £80,000 + benefits.

Role Overview

This role offers the chance to work within a Programme Management Office (PMO) environment, providing cost management, financial control, forecasting, and reporting across a portfolio of high-value projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring effective budget management and robust project controls throughout the programme lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost plans.
  • Monitor project expenditure and identify cost variances.
  • Produce accurate financial and performance reports for programme stakeholders.
  • Support change control processes and cost forecasting activities.
  • Ensure compliance with programme governance, reporting standards, and project controls frameworks.
  • Contribute to risk management and financial performance monitoring across multiple projects.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience in Cost Management, Project Controls, or a similar commercial/project services role.
  • A background within infrastructure, engineering, utilities, construction, or capital delivery projects.
  • Demonstrable experience in budgeting, forecasting, cost reporting, and financial analysis.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working on civil engineering projects.
  • Knowledge of project controls and planning systems such as: Primavera P6, Power BI, SAP, Oracle.
  • Relevant professional qualifications or memberships, such as: RICS, APM, ACostE.
