About the Role

Start here. Grow here.

As a Cost Manager based in Bristol, you’ll play a vital role in our Buildings & Places Infrastructure team, supporting high-impact water and environment projects across the UK’s Southwest. You’ll work with industry-leading clients—such as Southwest Water and the Environment Agency—to deliver capital programmes with precision, value, and innovation.

Responsible for cost management across the entire project lifecycle, from feasibility through to completion, this role offers a dynamic environment where professional growth and tangible results go hand in hand.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-end cost management: Lead all aspects of cost control, including feasibility studies, cost planning, tender documentation, contract procurement, value engineering, financial reporting, and final account settlement.
  • Commercial expertise: Ensure proficient cost reporting, risk management, and dispute resolution while maintaining commercial awareness.
  • Client & team engagement: Foster strong relationships with clients while upskilling junior team members and driving technical excellence.
  • Authentic AECOM presence: Represent the company professionally, reinforcing its reputation for premium-quality consulting in the construction industry.
  • Collaborative workflows: Work within integrated, multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects efficiently in NEC4 contracts, especially the Professional Services Contract (PSC) and Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC).

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
