Description

Are you an experienced Costs Draftsperson looking to join a leading claimant law firm where your expertise can make a real difference?

We're looking for a Law Costs Draftsperson to join our National Costs Department. This is an exciting opportunity to manage your own varied costs caseload while working alongside a highly experienced team dedicated to maximising costs recovery and delivering an exceptional service to our legal teams.

You'll play a key role in the recovery of costs across a range of Multi Track personal injury matters, including RTA, Employers' Liability, Public Liability and disease claims. Working with a high degree of autonomy, you'll handle costs matters from inception through to conclusion, ensuring the best possible outcomes for the firm and our clients.

Managing your own caseload of personal injury costs matters from start to finish Preparing Formal Bills of Costs, Statements of Costs (N260s), Estimates and Costs Budgets (Precedent H) Negotiating and settling costs claims to achieve the best possible recovery Drafting Replies to Points of Dispute and assisting with Detailed Assessment proceedings Advising fee earners on costs recovery prospects and strategy Preparing and coordinating assessment bundles and instructing advocates where required Attending Detailed Assessment and other costs-related hearings Maintaining accurate diary management and ensuring court deadlines are met Working collaboratively with fee earners and colleagues to maximise costs recovery across the firm Keeping up to date with developments in costs law, procedure and case law

Previous experience managing your own personal injury costs caseload Strong knowledge of Fast Track and Multi Track costs recovery processes Experience drafting Bills of Costs and conducting negotiations on costs matters Good understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules and costs-related case law Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills A confident and effective negotiator Able to work independently whilst contributing positively to a team environment Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook and Word
