We’re seeking a commercially minded professional to join our Legacy / Industrial Disease Costs Team—a collaborative, client-focused legal practice committed to supporting you in delivering efficient resolutions and exceptional value to clients.

Key Responsibilities
Your role will involve end-to-end case management with a focus on strategic negotiation and cost settlements. Core duties include:
- Assessing cases and formulating cost strategies and settlement parameters
- Preparing and responding to Points of Dispute
- Identifying legal strengths and weaknesses in opposing views
- Leading telephone negotiations to secure best-case settlements
- Providing clear, proactive updates to clients
- Managing correspondence while adhering to deadlines and performance targets
- Actively participating in hearings, mediations, and conferences (virtual or in-person)
- Conducting court advocacy where required by caseload
- Mentoring and delegating tasks to junior team members
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards

Requirements
Essential Experience & Qualifications
✔ At least 12 months’ experience as a Costs Negotiator, managing your own caseload ✔ Strong understanding of detailed costs assessment processes (including Points of Dispute) ✔ Telephone negotiation skills, with confidence in opposing interlocutors ✔ Continuous client liaison and clear communication of solutions ✔ Knowledge of costs law, insurance litigation, and legal processes ✔ Ability to prioritise workloads under pressure and make sound decisions ✔ Excellent communications and interpersonal skills ✔ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiar with case management systems ✔ LPC, ALCD, or equivalent qualification required
