About the Role

This role is for Cost Engineers who support major projects by providing accurate and timely project information, ensuring performance aligns with established project baselines. As a key stakeholder, you will:

  • Drive cost performance reporting, including all Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics tied to project commitments and expenditures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cost Control & Tracking

    • Develop project cost control data structures to accurately track and manage actual costs.
    • Monitor both internal and external expenditures against budgeted cost controls.
  • Financial Governance

    • Establish and maintain the project control budget in alignment with agreed-upon baselines.
    • Oversee project accruals and commitments, ensuring they adhere to budget commitments.
  • Forecasting & Financial Health

    • Build real-time project forecasts including:
      • Estimated Work in Progress (EWP)
      • Estimated Work to Complete (ETC)
      • Estimate at Complete (EAC)
  • Earned Value Management & Reporting

    • Provide accurate and timely reporting of all key project metrics.
    • Ensure transparent cost and schedule performance using EVM techniques.
  • Risk & Contingency Management

    • Track project contingency and exposure related to risk events.
    • Monitor outstanding risks and their potential financial impact.
  • Change Control & Alignment

    • Monitor project change control to ensure alignment with baselines and cost structures.
    • Track critical trends to inform future change control decisions.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A qualified graduate background in a relevant discipline (e.g., construction, engineering, project management).
  • 5 to 10 years of experience delivering project controls for major projects or programmes.

Additional Considerations

  • Possible SOX compliance responsibilities may apply to this role, requiring strict adherence to relevant controls.
