As a member of the Counselling team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching that inspires learners to develop the professional knowledge, practical skills, and confidence required for successful careers within the counselling sector.
Responsibilities
As a Lecturer in Counselling, your key responsibilities will include:
- Teaching and assessing Counselling programmes across various levels (Level 2 to Level 6).
- Delivering innovative and learner-centred teaching, learning, and assessment using diverse approaches.
- Providing effective tutorial, coaching, and pastoral support to facilitate learner progress.
- Monitoring, tracking, and recording learner achievement and attendance in compliance with college requirements.
- Developing schemes of work, lesson plans, and learning resources to enhance learner engagement and success.
- Contributing to curriculum development, supporting the continuous improvement of teaching, learning, and assessment.
- Participating in learner recruitment activities, including interviews, enrolment, induction, and open events.
- Upholding safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of teaching and learner support.

Requirements
We are looking for a passionate and committed educator who can:
- Have a degree or professional qualification in Counselling or a related subject.
- Hold a recognised teaching qualification (or be willing to pursue one).
- Bring recent and relevant experience teaching Counselling programmes (Levels 2–6).
- Demonstrate experience in delivering and assessing Counselling qualifications.
- Exhibit excellent teaching, learning, and assessment practice.
- Have strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Showcase good IT and administrative skills, particularly in maintaining accurate learner records.
- Be committed to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and learner success.
