Company Description
The New Futures Project empowers women and young people facing homelessness, sexual exploitation, domestic violence, and financial instability to create brighter futures. Our trauma-informed approach supports vulnerable women and young people in becoming safe, happy, empowered, and independent. We provide practical, emotional, and therapeutic support, including drop-in sessions, free counselling, and one-to-one assistance.
As part of our holistic service, we run Counselling Courses, accredited by the CPCAB.
After tutor payment, all monies are reinvested into the Charity to make a difference to a vulnerable woman or young person.
Role Description
This is a sessional role located in Leicester City Centre, and we are seeking Counselling Tutors for levels 2, 3, and 4. The Counselling Tutors will be responsible for delivering high-quality counselling sessions, developing lesson content, offering one-on-one student support, and ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.

Additionally, the Counselling Tutor will collaborate with other team members to enhance the educational experience and contribute to the continuous improvement of the program.

Qualifications
Qualifications for Level 2
- 150 hours counselling skills and theory qualification at level 2 and above. e.g. CSK-L2 plus CSTL3/CAST-L3
- 20 hours per year CPD activities
- 1 year experience using counselling skills in a workplace setting
- Teaching qualification or be working towards one
- Experience of teaching and assessing at level 2 or above
Qualifications for Level 3
- 420 hours therapeutic counselling qualification at level 4 or above. e.g. TC-L4
- 10 hours personal therapy AND Member of a professional association for counselling or psychotherapy
- Current supervised counselling practice AND Supervision qualification or experience of supervising groups or individuals in a counselling setting
- Teaching Qualification (or working towards one)
- 6 months teaching and assessing at level 2 or above
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Ability to provide one-on-one support and maintain a safe learning environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Enhanced DBS

Qualifications for Level 4
- 420 hours therapeutic counselling qualification at level 4 or above. e.g. TC-L4
- 10 hours of personal therapy
- Member of a professional association for counselling or psychotherapy
- 30 hours per year CPD activities
- Current practitioner with 2 years supervised counselling practice or minimum 450 counselling hours
- Supervision qualification or 1 year experience of providing supervision to groups or individuals in a counselling setting
- Teaching qualification AND 2 years teaching and assessing at level 2 and 3 or above
